Effects of Ethephon treatments on Ripening and Uniformity of Fig Fruit (Ficus carica. L)

چکیده

The current experiment was carried out to determine the effect of application ethephon on maturation “Peter” figs. Fig fruits were treated with three aqueous concentrations (500, 1000, and 1500 ppm) during developmental stage. physic-chemical characteristics, such as fruit weight, length, diameter, total soluble solids (TSS), acidity recorded analysed. results showed that period fig significantly accelerated ripening enhanced fruits’ uniformity. increased TSS compared untreated fruits, decreased fruits. Additionally, TSS/ ratio higher in ppm treatment comparison other treatments. On basis our data, we conclude increases uniformity fruit.

Immediate anaphylaxis after the ingestion of fig fruit (Ficus carica)

Results Diagnostic work-up showed a positive prick-prick with both fresh raw and dried fig fruit with a total serum IgE of 312 UI/L and a significant serum specific IgE to fig fruit. Co-sensitization to rubber latex and tropical fruits and cross-reactivity between Ficus benjamina latex, was also studied and a distinctive serum molecular allergy diagnostic profile (ISAC) was obtained. The patien...

Mass modeling of fig (Ficus carica L.) fruit with some physical characteristics

Horticultural crops with the similar weight and uniform shape are in high demand in terms of marketing value, which are used as food. For proper design of grading systems, important relationships among the mass and other properties of fruits such as length, width, thickness, volumes, and projected areas must be known. The aim of this research was to measure and present some physical properties ...

The ambiguous ripening nature of the fig (Ficus carica L.) fruit: a gene-expression study of potential ripening regulators and ethylene-related genes

The traditional definition of climacteric and non-climacteric fruits has been put into question. A significant example of this paradox is the climacteric fig fruit. Surprisingly, ripening-related ethylene production increases following pre- or postharvest 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) application in an unexpected auto-inhibitory manner. In this study, ethylene production and the expression of po...

Tissue-Specific Transcriptome and Hormonal Regulation of Pollinated and Parthenocarpic Fig (Ficus carica L.) Fruit Suggest that Fruit Ripening Is Coordinated by the Reproductive Part of the Syconium

In the unconventional climacteric fig (Ficus carica) fruit, pollinated and parthenocarpic fruit of the same genotype exhibit different ripening characteristics. Integrative comparative analyses of tissue-specific transcript and of hormone levels during fruit repining from pollinated vs. parthenocarpic fig fruit were employed to unravel the similarities and differences in their regulatory proces...

Pigment Changes Associated with Application of Ethephon ((2-Chloroethyl)phosphonic Acid) to Fig (Ficus carica L.) Fruits.

The application of (2-chloroethyl)phosphonic acid (Ethephon) to ;Mission' fig fruits (Ficus carica L.) during late period II of their development stimulated ripening and change in color from green to bluish black within 8 days. Chlorophylls a and b decreased rapidly within 4 days after Ethephon treatment, and degradation continued at a decreasing rate for an additional 4 days, at which time the...
